SUMMARY 

Supervises the servers, bartenders and server assistants.  Assists with hiring, training and supervising all food and beverage associates to assure a high level of service is consistently received at Vasari Country Club. 

 

HOURS/DAYS

Hours and days fluctuate according to the wants and needs of the members and guests. Holidays & Weekends are required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Assures proper associate staffing levels and payroll controls.
  2. Assists with inventory at the end of the month for beer and liquor and at the end of the year for china and glassware.
  3. Assists when needed to assure effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Assists with the development of on-going training programs for all food and beverage associates.
  4. Oversees that the restaurant is clean, well stocked and organized. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies.
  5. Maintains proper pars and pricing on all liquor, beer and wine, ensuring there is always sufficient products on hand.
  6. Make certain all menus and wine lists are up to date with the kitchen, Jonas system and front of house.
  7. Assists with floor plans for banquets, events, buffet set-up, a la carte dining and decor.
  8. Oversees clean-up and closing duties.
  9. Administers the daily opening and closing of computer procedures and guest check review.
  10. Takes dining reservations and checks table reservation schedules.
  11. Greets and seats members and guests, ensures member/guest satisfaction.
  12. Carefully supervises to help assure proper service; pours coffee and takes orders when necessary.
  13. Assures all side work is accomplished and all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed.
  14. Assists in resolving problems between service associates and the kitchen.
  15. Ensures that all legal requirements are consistently adhered to, including wage and hour and federal, state and/or local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or equivalent.  Must have extensive food and beverage experience.  Excellent communication skills are essential.  Must be a team player and customer service oriented.  Supervisory experience is required.

Florida Food Manager Certificate (CPFM)

The position requires work performed in indoor and outdoor environments.  Indoor activities include sitting or standing for long period of time, reading, writing, verbal communication and operating office equipment.  Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions. Active, physical work involving carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching and walking long distances. Must be able to work long hours during the season.

 

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust/focus.
